GPAT 2014: Full Information


About GPAT 2014
The Scores in Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) have been in use till the  year 2010 for admission in Master’s Programme in Pharmacy (M. Pharm) & Engineering and also for awarding fellowships/scholarships to Pharmacy Graduates along with engineering graduates. Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) an all India Examination was then launched by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi separately with effect from academic year 2011-12 for admission in Master’s Programme in Pharmacy (M. Pharm) and for award of fellowships. The first GPAT examination i.e. GPAT-2010 and the subsequent one for 2011 and 2012 was conducted in paper pencil mode by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi in association with M. S. University of Baroda, Vadodara. 

AICTE has started conducting the computer based  online National level GRADUATE PHARMACY 
APTITUDE TEST (GPAT) since last year for facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission in all postgraduate pharmacy programmes approved by AICTE. The notification is issued to announce the schedule for conducting computer based online GPAT for admission for academic year 2014-15. The testing window will be open for three days i.e. from 25thFebruary 2014 to 27th February 2014 in 57 cities. The candidates will have option of selecting date and city for  appearing in the test. 

Admission Process
The Institutes and central admission authorities will use scores awarded to the students for  allotment of seat in the registered pharmacy institutes. 

Eligibility for GPAT - 2014
Bachelor’s degree holders in Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2, including  lateral entry candidates) and those who are in the final year of B.  Pharmacy course ONLY are eligible for appearing in GPAT-2014 
Examination. [B. Pharmacy 1st year to 3rd year students are NOT ELIGIBLE to appear in  GPAT-2014 Examination. Any inquiry in this regard will not be  entertained]
