In order to strengthen the relationship and cooperation with India and Nepal, and taking into account the successful research activities already in place with the above mentioned countries in the framework of some specific scientific areas, the University of Padova announces a new initiative aimed at promoting international research mobility and cross-border research collaboration with advanced research groups coming from India and Nepal The program offers 4 grants to young post-doc candidates from India and Nepal wishing to spend a period of 12 months at University of Padova for study and research activities in all the scientific areas related to its Departments (full list at http://www.unipd.it/en/research/departments).
Requirements for the applicants
1.1. To be a citizen of India or Nepal and currently resident there.
1.2. To hold a PhD degree obtained within the last five years at the expiring date of the present
call.
1.3. To be preferably working at a University located in one of the above-mentioned eligible
Countries or an equivalent higher education institution.
1.4. To be under 38 years old.
1.5. To have published at least five peer review/articles/papers in international journals.
Composition of the Grant
Each accepted candidate will be awarded a scholarship of Euros 21.198,00, including living
allowance, travel and subsistence costs, gross of any tax charged to the grant holder.

The Application must include the following documents:
1. CV;
2. Presentation Letter from the PhD supervisor describing the experience developed during the
thesis preparation;
3. An abstract copy of the PhD thesis;
4. A proposal of research activity to be developed during the stay in Padova: the proposed
program should be agreed in advance with the research group of the Department where the
activity will be developed;
5. An acceptance letter from the activity responsible of the Department involved in the research
program in Padova.
Selection Procedure
The selection of candidates will be undertaken by a Committee appointed by the Rector of the
University of Padova. The results of selection will be published on the web page www.unipd.it/en >
Research> International Mobility within June 28th 2013. Successful candidates currently employed
by a University are responsible for ensuring that their home institution will grant them leave of absence to undertake the proposed research period abroad.
The final selection will be made according to the following criteria:
- Academic skills of the applicant.
- Experience as researcher.
- Curriculum Vitae assessment.
- Evaluation of scientific research program.
- Coherence between the program proposed by the applicant and the research areas of the
- hosting Departments.
- Interest of the hosting Department towards the research activity proposed;
