The Institute of Microbial Technology, a constituent establishment of the Council of Scientific
and Industrial Research, Government of India, wishes to recruit Research Associate / Project Fellows on
temporary basis to work in various sponsored/networked projects in this Institute as per details given
below:
1. Research Associate - (04 position)
Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in Life Science, Immunology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Bio-informatics,
Bio-Chemistry, Chemistry, Physics, Bio-Physics, Microbiology, medical sciences, Pharmacology.
Desirable: Practical research experience with techniques related to Molecular Biology, Bio-Chemistry,
Microbiology, Cellular Immunology and Tissue culture, bioinformatics and research experience in the
field of Enzymology, Nanostructure materials and their applications.
Stipend: - Rs. 22,000/- plus HRA @ 20%p.m.
Age limit : - 35 years as on 01.08.2012
2. Project Fellow (02 Positions)
Essential Qualification:1st Class M.Sc in Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Bioinformatics,
medical sciences, bio-physics, pharmacoinformatics, computers, informatics, mathematics, medical chemistry,
Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Zoology, Cell Biology
Desirable:-Working experience with techniques related to Bioinformatics, neology, drug discovery, computer
programming.
Stipend: - Rs. 16,000/- + HRA @20%
Age limit : - 28 years as on 01.08.2012
3. Senior Project Fellow (02 Positions)
Essential Qualification:1st Class M.Sc in Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Bioinformatics,
medical sciences, bio-physics, pharmacoinformatics, computers, informatics, mathematics, medical chemistry,
Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Zoology, Cell Biology with minimum2 years research experience.
Desirable:-Working experience with techniques related to Bioinformatics, biology, drug discovery, computer
programming
Stipend: - Rs. 18,000/- + HRA @ 20%
Age limit : - 32 years as on 01.08.2012
(Relaxation in case of SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped will be as per GOI Rules).
The engagement as a Research Associate /Project Fellows in the projects is purely on temporary basis maximum for
the period of duration of the project. However, appointment will initially be offered for a period of one year and will be
extended yearly basis till the duration of the project depending on the satisfactory performance of the incumbent. The
appointment can be terminated by either side by giving one month’s notice. Total duration of project assistantship in CSIR
Laboratories is maximum of 5 years. Therefore, if an incumbent switches between the projects, the appointment will terminate
on the day he/she completes 05 years as a Research Associate/Project Fellow. Please note that it is not an IMTECH/CSIR
appointment and will not confer any right of the incumbent to any claim implicit or explicit or any position. Number of
positions may vary.

(Wednesday) at 9.30 a.m. Sharp in the Seminar Hall of this Institute along with complete bio-data duly signed enclosing
therewith photocopies of certificates/testimonials in support of date of birth, qualification/ experience etc. and affixed with
latest passport size photograph on it. Original certificates are also required to be produced at the time of interview. No TA
will be paid for attending the interview.
Note: Thesis submitted and result awaited candidates are not eligible for interview.
